The Heartstirring Progress of the Sino-Japan Planning Cooperation Project

Beijing-Sep 29th, 2007- the smooth running of the Sino-Japan Cooperation Project Vegetation Rehabilitation Demonstration and Planning in Sandstorm Jeopardized Area around Beijing was strived by the joint efforts from both China and Japan project people following the scheduled plan since March of this year till the end of September. The work including documentation filing and analysis, field investigation, training, studying, satellite photos interpretation and the tendering of part of the project activities has been launched and/or completed that strongly support the project implementation.

Background
Beijing Municipal Bureau of Parks and Forestry (the former Beijing Municipal Bureau of Forestry) handed the proposal of the Sino-Japan Cooperation Project Vegetation Rehabilitation Demonstration and Planning in Sandstorm Jeopardized Area around Beijing to Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in 2003. the MOU of Project Agreement and the Project Implementation Outline were signed by China and Japan governments at October 24 2006 and January 9 2007 which officially launch the project.
